Loved this game. Next to the cool battle sprite art, my favorite thing was the hilarious writing. It frequently makes jokes on common RPG tropes but it never feels like it disrespects the genre, while also keeping the story coherent. Also the music is really nice (especially the level up jingle)
Brilliant abstraction of the genre and extremely charming distillation of a lot of different sources. The Dogu guard and the Digimon missile flooded my shit with dopamine.
The MIDI bongos are banging anyway. Hell Knight Theme sounds like MIDI Bitch's Brew. Did you use public domain stuff? I am curious how to procure, whether it's original or not.
That was like a fever dream from getting sick after playing Final Fantasy and eating junk food all night long. And I mean that in the best way possible. Thanks for putting out this silly little thing!
This was a good way to finish off a lazy afternoon. I named the protagonist Guy because they're a little guy. Once again the splendidland charm and humor brightens my day!
